| When was LGW established? |
LGW was founded in 1986 by 18 dedicated members of the Greater Washington region and co-founded by The Greater Washington Board of Trade and the Junior League of Washington. Visit the "About Us" section for more on the history of LGW.
Leadership Greater Washington is funded through corporate investors and foundation grants which provide support for programs and help secure LGW's financial infrastructure. Investors may choose to specifically donate to individual programs such as Youth Leadership Greater Washington, Communities of Interest, or specific events.
| How large is LGW's staff? |
LGW is staffed by four full-time professionals who oversee the programming, communications, membership activities, finances and funding of the organization. For more about the LGW staff, visit the "Meet the Staff" page.
LGW is always in need of program day sponsors, program day hosts, donors to our annual silent auction and underwriters for our annual networking events. Specifically for events, investment opportunities are available to sponsor the awards during the annual awards dinner and through table sponsorships. Invest in LGW today.

LGW maintains a collaborative and positive relationship with other regional leadership programs such as Leadership Montgomery, Leadership Fairfax, Leadership Alexandria and Leadership Arlington. Additionally, executives from each program regularly share best-practices and programming ideas for continued growth.
